Decorating Contest Rules

• Downtown Toms River invites downtown residents to decorate the exterior of their homes with colorful lights, wreaths, scenery and other decorative ornaments during the holiday season.
• Homes may be decorated at anytime, but will be judged December 5th beginning at 5 pm.
• Entry forms are due Monday, December 3rd by 5pm at the Downtown Toms River office located at 218 Main St.
• Pre-registration is required!

Who is eligible?

Your home must be located within the boundaries of Downtown Toms River. (Garden State Parkway east to Hadley Ave.  South-side of Rt. 37 south to the Toms River)  Downtown map

Judging criteria

This year's participating judges include a celebrity judge from WJRZ radio, along with other Toms River Township VIP’s.  Judging will commence on Wednesday Dec. 5th, at 5 pm.

Criteria Judged:

• Originality: Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations
• Arrangement: Display and placement of decorations
• Theme: Story line or scene
• Overall Presentation

Prizes

• $200 cash prize
• Yard Sign designating your home as the 2006 “Deck the Homes” Contest Winner
• Award Certificate
