The Toms River –Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, Toms River Business Improvement District and the Dover Township Police PAL, has sponsored the Jingle Bells Run, in the past. The Rotary Club of Toms River began its sponsorship in 2007.
The 5K and 1 Mile Run provide runners with a quaint view of downtown Toms River as they run through historic and scenic residential neighborhoods decorated for the holidays. The race starts and ends near the Ocean County Library on Washington Street.
Rotary Club of Toms River will use the proceeds of the race to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from Toms River High Schools, South, North and East as well as Monsignor Donovan. The Rotary Club Scholarship Committee will receive nominations from respective High Schools and select candidates based upon their participation in helping with this race as well as other community activities.
Race times are: 1 Mile Run / Walk at 3:00 pm and the 5K Race at 3:30 pm
Awards will be given out to the top 3 male and female runners in both the 5K and 1 Mile Run. The 5K race also will give awards to the top 3 male and female winners in 10 year age groups.
