Toms River, NJ… It’s blueberry season in New Jersey, and they will be celebrating the delicious little berries at the Farmers’ Market in Downtown Toms River on Wednesday, July 7. Shoppers can enter to win a basket of items including blueberries, blueberry products, and other items from the vendors. The drawing will be held at 3:00 pm and the winner need not be present.

The Farmers’ Market is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Wednesday, rain or shine, through October 27th in Huddy Park, located at the intersection of Main and Water streets in Toms River. Metered parking is available on the lower level of the parking deck across from Huddy Park.

Participating farmers include: DeWolf’s Farm, E.R. & Son Organic Farm, Farmer Al's Market, Fresh Pik Farms, Krowicki's Farm Market, and Cicconi Farms. New to the market this year is A & B Bakery, selling gourmet baked goods; Adoughables, offering crystal water beads (for keeping cut flowers); Grab Em Snacks, selling homemade gourmet plantain chips; and Dandelion, with a selection of homemade salt and sugar body scrubs, body oils and sprays.
Among the wide assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables, the market also has other homemade products for sale.
Returning favorites include Lithuanian Bakery with their huge assortment of bakery products including bread, rolls, muffins, cakes, pies, danish, strudels, and more; PickleLicious, offering pickles, pickled-products, and olives; Nuts For You offering a large selection of nuts, candy, and snow cones; Herbertsville Honey Company with their local honey, handcrafted soaps, skin creams, and lip balms; High Mountain Foods with their delicious frozen ravioli, pasta, frozen meats, chicken, fish, fresh mozzarella & cheeses, and hummus; and Italian Treasures, selling regular and stuffed breads, cheeses, roasted red peppers, sun dried tomatoes.

  The Farmers’ Market is presented by Downtown Toms River and is sponsored by Comcast, New Jersey Natural Gas, United Water Toms River, Capone’s Gourmet Pizza & Restaurant, Extra Space Storage, Allen Consulting, and radio stations Magic 100.1 WJRZ and The WRAT.
